Website Inspiration

Before we created our website we did a lot of research into similar artists to ours and what their website's consisted of. We recognized the ones that had the greatest first impressions were the ones that just had 1 big picture of the artist on the home page. So we ensured that we were going to used just 1 photo of Faith for ours. All of these websites use statement text of the artists name either in the middle of the page or at the top. We also noticed their subheadings all included their tour dates, shop, gallery, bio, music, news and many more. So we narrowed down which pages we thought wold be most effective and realistic to include. We decided on; Home, Music, Tour, Gallery and Contact details. The least effective and eye catching of the 6 would defiantly be 'Lordes' website. This is because although it is different in comparison to the others, it is also extremely boring and dull. First impressions are everything and we wouldn't want fans to be disappointed by anything that we do in order to create a branded house hold name for Faith. Another thing we noticed is that 'less is more', after looking at Miley Cyrus' website, the pictures and graphics are very over powering, and there is a lot featured on just one page. Its hard to take it all in a first glance, i don't think it looks professional at all, and the colours are very artificial. It almost looks like its a child's website rather than an established artist and performer.
Its clear by looking at our website that Beyonce and Rita Ora inspired us the greatest. we loved the tidiness o the website and the simplicity of the colour schemes. ~On the home page there is a huge image of the artist in the center, and then the list of links. its important to keep simplicity as well as it being visual that the website is professional and detailed in different aspects, because of the sheer fact that the consideration of the different customer base has to be contemplated. Beyonces website chose the colour scheme of purple black and white, however Rita Ora's website chose a brighter more artificial option which was black red and white. I think its important to included a colour that diversifies the website, and that in which be used to create a statement. In Beyonce's case she has used to purple and in Rita Ora's case, red has been used.something that each and everyone of the websites do include is the option for the fans to get involved. So they have a sign up/log in button somewhere on the webiste so that fans can create a page and receive news and updates aswell as the opportunity to buy merchandise, another thing they include is the links fan pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We have used both of the aspects on our website because its important to make the customer feel special, as well as broaden peoples knowledge of the artist and advertise via other social networking websites.
